Public Alert: Scam Emails About Phony Court Cases Carry Computer VirusJanuary 13, 2014
The federal judiciary has learned of an email scam, in which emails purporting to come from federal and state courts are infecting recipients with computer viruses. These e-mails patently are fraudulent and are designed to infect computers with a variety of harmful viruses. Federal court electronic correspondence will always be from an address that ends in 'uscourts.gov'. As with any suspicious e-mail, do not open any message from an unknown recipient, nor open any attachments from questionable or unknown sources.
