Training Questions
- How do I sign up for
training?
The CM/ECF Training Calendar is posted to our website. On-line registration is available by clicking on the name of the class you wish to attend.
Prerequisites for attending CM/ECF classroom training are:
- Familiarity with a browser, such as Netscape or Internet Explorer, and the ability to navigate the Internet.
- Software to convert word processing documents into .PDF [Portable Document Format.]
- Read and understand the CM/ECF Administrative Orders and Procedures.
- If I attended CM/ECF
training in another bankruptcy court, do I still have to attend a training
class in the Western District of New
York?
Our court will waive the classroom training requirement for attorneys who have completed training and are registered filing users in another bankruptcy court. A Training Waiver Form must be completed. If you have questions about the training requirement, please contact Jane Murphy, 585-613-4221 or Lisa Czaja, 716-362-3236. - Will the Court be
doing any further hands-on training? If so, I 'd like to set up a time and
have a few people from our office come to the training.
Please refer to the Training Calendar for a list of dates and times as well as other registration information. - When will we be
issued attorney passwords (and/or will my test password carry over)?
Attorney logins and passwords will be issued after completion of the CM/ECF training or certification of training with another ECF court, and submission of the completed CM/ECF Attorney Registration Form. A password to the Court's training database will be provided during ECF training. This password will only work on our training system, not in our live system and is for training purposes only. - Can I use the same
login and password that was issued to me by another ECF court previously?
No. Each court maintains its own database and issues passwords in accordance with their own procedures. - What about training
for my support staff?
Your support staff is welcome to attend the training with you. However, only attorneys will be issued passwords to the live CM/ECF database. Remember, your password is considered your electronic signature so you will have to set up internal procedures regarding the sharing of your password.
