Ordering Transcripts

Effective October 1, 2011, for all court proceedings before Chief Judge Bucki and Judge Kaplan, and effective August 1, 2012 for all court proceedings before Judge Warren, the Court began utilizing digital court recording technology.   The digital audio recordings serve as the official record of courtroom proceedings before Chief Judge Bucki, Judge Warren and Judge Kaplan, and will be used by transcribers when fulfilling transcript requests. 

To order written transcripts for matters heard before Chief Judge Bucki and Judge Kaplan on or after October 1, 2011*, and on or after August 1, 2012*, for Judge Warren:

  • Complete Form AO-435 – Transcript Order.
  • Submit the completed form either by email, to transcript_coordinator@nywd.uscourts.gov, by mail, to U.S. District Court, ATTN: Transcript Coordinator, 2 Niagara Square, Buffalo, NY 14202, or by fax, to Fax No. : (716) 551-1705
  • The transcriber will contact the party ordering the transcript to discuss payment and delivery requirements.

*Court reporter notes and/or audio recordings older than 10 years old are destroyed and are no longer available for transcription.

Once a transcript has been produced, a certified copy is filed with the Clerk of Court as part of the case file. The filed transcript is available for inspection in the clerk's office.  There is a period of 90 days from the date of filing when requests for transcripts must be processed by a court reporter.  Upon expiration of the 90 days, the clerk's copy is thereafter available for copying for a fee as noted in the fee schedule. 

Ordering Transcripts for Section 341 Meetings of Creditors

To order a transcript for a Section 341 Meeting of Creditors, you must contact the United States Trustee's Office in Buffalo or Rochester (based on the office division to which the case is assigned.)
